Supporting Trans Youth Event

1 Sep 2016

Transgender visibility has grown increasingly over the past few years and as society moves forward more and more young trans people are feeling new confidence to be themselves. In the run-up to Newry Pride, Newry Rainbow Centre is playing host to a discussion on some of the barriers young trans people face in relation to discrimination in housing, healthcare and education.
This event is an opportunity to hear from trans young people and those that work with them about their experiences navigating services and how we can include trans young people in our service provision, workplaces, schools, unions and society.
Date: 1st September 2016
Time: 2pm – 4.30pm, refreshments from 1.30pm
Speakers: Ellen Murray (GenderJam), Simon Stewart (SAIL), Aodhán Barnes (GenderJam)
