Jenkins murder trial jury retires

Jurors in the Billie-Jo Jenkins murder trial retired on Monday to consider their verdict.

Sion Jenkins, 48, now of Lymington, Hampshire, denies murdering his 13-year-old foster daughter at their home in Hastings, East Sussex, in 1997.

She was battered to death with an iron tent peg as she painted patio doors.

This is Mr Jenkins' third trial after a first conviction was quashed and jurors at the second trial failed to reach a verdict last year.
